Get to Know The Messy Paintress

Hey there! My name is Jennifer Northorp, I am a multimedia artist and the creator behind The Messy Paintress.

Painting and sculpting with ceramics are my favorite ways to express myself, however I love immersing myself in any materials I can get my hands on. ​

Creating is not just my passion- it is my reflection, observation, therapy, play, and exploration. 

Sharing my love for art-making is my greatest contribution, as I love to facilitate and collaborate with other artists of all ages. I believe that art is for everyone, regardless of age, skill, and differences and that the act of creating itself holds more value than the finished "product".

I received a Bachelor of Social Work in 2020, and a Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Art Education in 2025 from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Focusing on ceramics in school, I continue my journey with firing clay at my home studio while continuing to paint murals and other commissions. I look forward to every opportunity to share my passion with art for others through teaching and community building this year!​
